Manchester City will travel to Bramall Lane to take on Sheffield United this weekend as they look to grab their third win on the road. Continuing their struggle to secure any points since rejoining the top tier, Sheffield United are aiming to achieve a Premier League upset as they host reigning champions.
In the second round of fixtures, Sheffield United suffered a 2-1 defeat against Nottingham Forest, whereas Pep Guardiola’s team kept their flawless beginning intact with a 1-0 victory over Newcastle United.
4-2-3-1 Manchester City Predicted XI Vs Sheffield United
Ederson will function in goal for the Mancunian club after keeping a clean sheet in his last outing. Manuel Akanji will form the customary centre-half partnership with Ruben Dias as they try to keep the opposition attackers at bay during the game.
Kyle Walker will operate as the right-back while Josko Gvardiol takes on the role as a left-back. Both of them will have to remain compact defensively and the former will look to put his pace to good use as he ventures forward in the final third.
Midfield
Rodri and Mateo Kovacic will fill in as the holding midfielders as they focus on dominating the ball at the centre of the park.
Bernardo Silva, Julian Alvarez and Phil Foden will play just ahead of them as part of Guardiola’s attack. All of them will need to move the ball well if they want to create enough chances for Man City to win this contest.
Kalvin Phillips will have to be content with a place on the bench and might come on to make an impact in the second half if required.
Attack
Erling Haaland will lead the charge for the Mancunian giants on the attacking end of the field. The Norwegian striker failed to score against the Magpies and would be eager to find the back of the net this weekend.
