The January transfer window is up and running, well not literally but a number of players and the men behind the scenes have surely got to work to ensure they meet their targets and at the same time get the best deal for the players in demand.
The clubs got around 5 months to evaluate their options and analyse the players available. The Premier League saw a number of changes in managerial positions and it is obvious that they preferred to wait until the next transfer window or at least a year before making the necessary changes.
And with the stakes higher than ever, with the league turning out to be one of the most competitive in years, there are a number of teams who will be busy.
EVERTON
The Toffees are in the 7th spot but will be desperate to capitalise on this start and make inroads into the top 6. It is an extremely difficult task considering that the six teams ahead of them are stronger and financially ahead.
But Koeman has the pedigree to make a realistic challenge if he can get a couple of players on board according to his liking. They are apparently targeting a centre-back, a central midfielder and a winger. They have already signed Ademola Lookman and going by the looks of it, a couple of faces are surely incoming.
HULL CITY
The basement dwellers are the team in crisis. It has been established thus. Owners who are looking to sell and who have fallen out with the last two managers over additions to a squad which can hardly put together a senior team on matchdays.
New boss Marco Silva has been roped in till the end of the season at least and he has described his job on hand as the most difficult one he has faced till now.
According to him, it would require a miracle for the team to stay afloat in the league. He will surely make new signings and that will be the only way they can even have a chance to win the relegation dogfight.
SWANSEA CITY
The Swans have already sacked two managers and new boss Paul Clement will be hoping he fares much better than the previous ones.
The former Bayern Munich assistant coach has admitted that he will be looking to make a number of signings but only after taking a look at the available players. A centre-back is high on the list while a midfield enforcer and a creative player are also touted as possible arrivals.
