In a recent report, Fichajes mentioned that Barcelona are weighing up a move for Ajax star Mohammed Kudus this summer. It has been stated that the Catalan club are hoping to bring the Ghana international to the Nou Camp before the end of this summer transfer window.
Kudus’ Good Run Of Form In Dutch Football
Kudus had a productive campaign at the Amsterdam club recently as he was responsible for performing at a high level for them in the final third. The Ghanaian sensation banged in 18 goals and grabbed seven assists in 42 matches for the Dutch outfit last season across all fronts.
The 23-year-old has been a reliable performer in the opponent’s half based on his average of 2.3 shots, 1.0 key passes and 3.0 dribbles per 90 minutes in the Dutch Eredivisie. He was even accurate when interchanging possession with his teammates after completing 87.6% of his attempted passes in top-flight football (stats via whoscored).
His current contract at Ajax will run out in the summer of 2025. Thus, Barca would have to make a good offer if they want to convince the Dutch club to part ways with their prized asset.
What Will Kudus Bring To Barcelona?
Kudus can strike the ball with venom and precision from long range and has got the vision to unlock the opposition defence with a killer pass in the final third. Kudus is primarily an attacking midfielder but can also fill in as a centre-forward or play as a right-winger if needed.
The Dutch sensation is a decent dribbler with the ball as well but it remains to be seen whether he can maintain his good numbers in La Liga if Barcelona manage to land him before the end of this month.
We can expect Kudus to bring more goals and creativity to Barca boss Xavi’s frontline. He is good enough to earn a regular starting place at the Nou Camp this season. The Ghana international might even help Barcelona challenge for some major honours in the not-too-distant future.
At 23, Kudus has his best years ahead of him which makes him an ideal choice for the Catalan giants to consider during this summer transfer period.
