Aston Villa will lock horns with Hibernian at East Road this Wednesday evening as they look to earn a good result in the first leg of their UEFA Europa Conference League playoff tie. The Villans managed to secure a dominant 4-0 win over Everton recently which will keep them in high spirits ahead of this game.
Unai Emery will set his team up in a 4-2-3-1 formation and is expected to name a strong first XI for this game. Calum Chambers and Youri Tielemans will probably get the nod to play from the start of this European clash.
4-2-3-1 Aston Villa Predicted Lineup To Face Hibernian
Defence
Emiliano Martinez will function in between the sticks for the Villans after keeping a clean sheet in his last outing. Calum Chambers will get a chance to play alongside Ezri Konsa at the heart of Aston Villa’s defence as they try to keep things solid at the back during the 90 minutes.
Matty Cash will keep his spot at right-back while Lucas Digne hopes to give a good account of himself on the other side as the left-back. Emery will ask both of them to pick and choose their moments to join in on the attack.
Diego Carlos and Pau Torres will be available for selection on the bench as they provide cover for the defensive positions.
Midfield
Douglas Luiz and Youri Tielemans will anchor the midfield for the West Midlands club as they hope to establish their superiority over the opposition in the middle of the park.
The talented trio of John McGinn, Cameron Archer and Bertrand Traore will play just ahead of them as part of Emery’s attack. Both McGinn and Traore will be instructed to get in behind the Hibernian backline at every chance they get.
Leon Bailey, Moussa Diaby and Boubacar Kamara will have to settle for a spot on the bench and might come on to make an impact in the second 45 minutes if told to do so.
Attack
Jhon Duran could get a chance to lead the line for the Villans on his own up top. He came off the bench and got his name on the scoresheet versus Everton recently, so we can expect his confidence to be quite high ahead of this clash at Easter Road.
Ollie Watkins will be named on the bench.
