Antonio Conte might add some players in this January but he is happy with his defenders. He has made it clear that he won’t be signing any new defenders in the transfer window.
Chelsea resigned David Luiz from PSG and brought Marcos Alonso from Fiorentina. Both the players have shined in their respective position this term as the Blues are sitting top of the Premier League table.
Luiz has been rock solid in the Blues defence alongside Gary Cahill and Cesar Azpilicueta while Alonso has been impressive in the left wing back position.
Conte has a number of options in defence as Kurt Zouma is back from injury while John Terry is also available for selection.
He said, “In January it is always difficult to buy great players because the other teams don’t want to sell. To buy only to buy, I don’t like.
“Not closer, but we have some ideas about this. We are working around these ideas.
“I don’t think we need another central defender, no.”
