In a recent tweet, renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano claimed that Rosario Central youngster Alejo Veliz has agreed on personal terms with Tottenham Hotspur. It is believed that Spurs are yet to agree on a fee with the Argentine club to bring the gifted starlet to North London this summer.

Veliz’s Impressive Run Of Form In Argentine Football
Veliz is having a great campaign at the Argentine club as he has put in a run of impressive displays for them in front of the opponent’s goal. The Argentine striker banged in 11 goals and picked up one assist in 23 appearances for his current employers last season across all competitions.
The 19-year-old deserves a ton of credit for averaging 1.5 clearances, 2.7 shots and 0.5 key passes per 90 minutes in Liga Profesional. However, he needs to distribute the ball better in the opponent’s half based on his pass success rate of 65.2% in the top tier of Argentine football (stats via whoscored).
His current contract at Rosario Central is set to expire at the end of 2025. Thus, it won’t be easy for Tottenham to land him for a reduced fee this summer.

Veliz is proficient at finding space for himself to get a few strikes in on-target. He can be a decent finisher in front of the opponent’s goal when he is playing with confidence on the pitch.
The Argentine sensation can even create some decent chances for others around him in the final third. He can use his strong 1.86m frame to hold possession back for his team but needs to work on improving his link-up play up top.
Veliz will no doubt give Tottenham boss Angelos Postecoglu more options on the attacking end of the field. At 19, he has the potential to become a future star at the highest level which makes him a great, long-term option for the North London club to consider in this off-season.
