In a recent report, Sky Sports revealed that Paris Saint-Germain has accepted a world-record £259m offer from Al-Hilal for Kylian Mbappe. The Saudi club has been given permission to speak to the French centre-forward following PSG’s decision to put him up for sale this summer.
At the moment, Mbappe is playing some of the best football of his young career. However, he has fallen out of favour at Parc des Princes despite having a year left to run in his current contract.
Thus, it is no surprise that top European clubs have been reluctant about launching a big offer for him in this off-season as he is on an expiring contract. Now that Al-Hilal has made a world-record £259m bid for him which was accepted, it would be up to Mbappe to decide whether he wants to spend next season in Saudi Arabia or continue his inconvenient stay in Paris.
Why Mbappe Will Be Doing The Right Thing By Accepting The Saudi Offer
Unless a top European club makes an offer for him, Mbappe would be wise to accept the offer to join Al-Hilal on a short-term contract before returning to Europe as a free agent next summer when he would have a lot of potential suitors.
Such a move would make sense for the player financially as he looks to establish himself as one of the highest earners in world football. Plus, he would be able to finally put an end to his unhappiness at Parc des Princes by sealing a move elsewhere.
Mbappe has enjoyed a terrific spell at PSG so far after he banged in 212 goals and 98 assists in 260 matches for them across all fronts. He also helped them win a lot of trophies and played an integral role in their historic run to the 2019-20 UEFA Champions League final.
Mbappe has achieved a lot during his time in France. It’s high time he opted for a change of scenery in search of more success in the future. At the moment, the best decision for him would be to take the lucrative Saudi offer and reassess his future once again next summer.
