In a recent report, Sport mentioned that Barcelona are eyeing a move for CD Badajoz starlet Edu Sanchez this summer. It has been revealed that the Catalan club are showing interest in recruiting the Spanish full-back in this off-season.
Sanchez’s Rapid Rise At Badajoz
Sanchez came up the youth ranks of Moralo before joining Diocesano in 2020. A year later, Badajoz decided to get him on board.
The Spanish sensation has managed to break out as a first-team starter for the Spanish club. Sanchez has made a total of 20 appearances for Badajoz thus far across all fronts but is still waiting to score his first goal for the club.
The 18-year-old is currently one of the most promising young players in Spanish football, so Barca would do well to bring him to the Nou Camp this summer.
Barcelona Are Eyeing A Move For Sanchez: Is He A Prospect For The Future?
Sanchez is a talented full-back who can time his tackles well to earn the ball back for his team inside his half. He usually clears the danger when needed and can make some energetic runs with the ball on the left flank. However, the Spanish whizkid needs to find a way to be more productive in the opponent’s half.
Still, there is no denying that Sanchez is a prospect to watch out for in the future, so Barcelona head coach Xavi will do well to bring him on board this summer. He is primarily a left-back but can also fill in as a left-sided wide player if told to do so.
At 18, Sanchez has the potential to become a world-class talent as long as he continues to work hard on getting better in the coming years. Hence, he will be an excellent signing for the Catalan club in the long run.
Sanchez would also serve as an ideal, long-term successor to Jordi Alba who left Barca to join Inter Miami recently. With all things considered, Xavi would be wise to go all out to recruit the Spanish prospect. However, Barcelona would have to be patient with his progress if they want to get the best out of him in the long run.
