Reinier’s Uninspiring Loan Spell At Girona Last Season
Reinier had a lackluster loan spell at Girona in the previous campaign when he failed to find consistency with his performances in the final third. The Brasilia-born playmaker scored two goals and earned one assist in 18 appearances for the Spanish club last season across all fronts.
The 21-year-old saw most of his game time come off the bench which could be why he only averaged 0.5 shots, 0.4 key passes and 0.5 dribbles per game in La Liga football. However, he was accurate with his ball distribution after completing 80.7% of his attempted passes in top-flight football (stats via whoscored).
His current contract at Real Madrid will expire in 2026. However, Carlo Ancelotti has shown no indication of including Reinier in his plans for the new season, so it is only logical for Los Blancos to allow the youngster to leave on loan this summer.
Real Madrid Are Planning To Send Reinier Out On Loan: Good Move For Everyone Involved?
Reinier can shoot the ball well from long range and has got the eye to play a few decisive passes in the opponent’s half. He is a good dribbler with the ball as well but needs to find a way to improve his productivity in front of the opposition goal.
The Brazilian sensation is primarily an attacking midfielder but can also operate as a winger on either flank if asked to do so by his manager.
At the moment, Reinier is in dire need of regular playing time which Carlo Ancelotti simply cannot afford to offer him at Real Madrid next season. Thus, it will be a good move for both the player and the Madrid club to temporarily part ways with each other this summer.
Reinier can definitely benefit from another loan spell and might come back to the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium as an improved version of himself next year.
