In a recent report, Spanish news outlet IDEAL revealed that Everton have launched a €30m move for Almeria talent El Bilal Toure this summer. It has been claimed that the Toffees have made an improved offer to land the Mali forward ahead of the new season.
Toure’s Up And Down Season In Spanish Football
Toure had a campaign of mixed emotions at Almeria recently as he struggled to be consistent but managed to prove his worth at times up top. The Mali sensation found the back of the net on seven occasions and picked up a couple of assists in 22 appearances for his current employers last season across multiple competitions.
The 21-year-old was a decent performer in the final third based on his average of 1.4 shots and 0.7 key passes per 90 minutes in La Liga. However, he has to find a way to improve his link-up play in the opponent’s half as evidenced by his pass completion rate of 71.8% in the Spanish top tier (stats via whoscored).
Toure’s current deal at the Spanish club will expire in the summer of 2028. Thus, the Toffees would find it tough to sign him on a cut-price deal in this off-season.
What Will Toure Add To Everton Boss Sean Dyche’s Team?
Toure is proficient at finding space for himself to get a few shots in on-target. He has got the eye to play a decisive pass in the final third but needs to work on retaining the ball a bit better up top. Toure is primarily a centre-forward but can also serve as a right-winger if needed.
The Mali talent also has to find a way to time his runs well in behind the opponent’s backline. Hence, he would be a tricky signing for the Toffees if they can get him on board this summer.
We can expect Toure to add some much-needed firepower to Everton head coach Sean Dyche’s frontline. He would also provide more competition for Dominic Calvert-Lewin at Goodison Park in the coming seasons.
However, there are some question marks over whether Toure would be able to cope with the physical side and high intensity of Premier League football if Dyche manage to lure him to Merseyside in this ongoing transfer window.
