In a recent report, AS offered an update on the future of Real Madrid playmaker Reinier. It has been claimed that Los Blancos are planning to loan the Brazilian talent out once again this summer.
Reinier’s Uneventful Loan Spell At Girona
Reinier had an underwhelming loan spell at Girona recently as he struggled to be consistent for them in front of the opponent’s goal. The 21-year-old netted a couple of goals and picked up one assist in 18 matches for the Spanish club last season in all competitions.
The Brasilia-born attacker made most his appearances off the bench which explains why he only averaged 0.5 shots, 0.4 key passes and 0.5 dribbles per 90 minutes in La Liga. However, he was careful when distributing possession in the opponent’s half after making 80.7% of his attempted passes in the Spanish top tier (stats via whoscored).
His current contract at the Madrid club will run out in 2026. However, he is currently not a part of Carlo Ancelotti’s plans for the new season which could lead to his departure once again on loan this summer.
What Should Real Madrid Boss Carlo Ancelotti Do With Regards To Reinier?
Reinier can engineer a yard of space for himself to get a few shots in at goal. He has got the eye to play some decisive passes in the final third and is a decent dribbler with the ball as well.
The Brazilian youngster mainly functions as an attacking midfielder but can also operate as a winger on either flank if asked to do so. However, he needs to find a way to improve his productivity on the attacking end of the field.
At the moment, Reinier finds himself on the fringes of Carlo Ancelotti‘s squad. Hence, it is only fair to the player if Real Madrid allow him to leave in search of more playing opportunities next season.
At 21, Reinier has still got a bright future ahead of him and could come back as an improved version of himself next year. However, Ancelotti simply cannot afford to keep him at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium and would be better off loaning him out during this summer transfer window.
