Mason Greenwood made a notable return to training on Thursday, marking his first appearance in nearly 18 months as a Manchester United footballer. Since his initial arrest in January 2022 on charges of rape, assault, and controlling and coercive behaviour, the 21-year-old talent has remained largely out of the public eye. However, the Crown Prosecution Service dropped all charges against Greenwood in February, and his trial scheduled for November was cancelled.

Unravelling The Club’s Sentiment Towards Mason Greenwood Amidst Controversy
Earlier this year, United manager Erik ten Hag hinted at his willingness to welcome Greenwood back into the team. While refraining from discussing the legal specifics of the case, the Dutchman acknowledged that the player had previously demonstrated his ability to contribute to the team’s attacking lineup.
Despite reports of resistance from Manchester United‘s women’s team, there are indications that the club remains open to Greenwood’s return.
