In a recent print edition, The Sunday Mirror (11 June, Page 70) revealed that Tottenham Hotspur are eyeing a move for FC Seoul winger Seong-jin Kang. It has been claimed that Spurs are showing interest in the South Korea international ahead of a potential move in the summer.
Kang’s Impressive Form In South Korean Football
At such a tender age, Kang has already established himself as a key member of FC Seoul’s senior side. The 20-year-old has made 57 appearances for the South Korean outfit so far, netting three goals and earning seven assists in the process across all fronts.
The South Korea international has caught the eye at times with his contributions on the right flank and made a good start to this campaign in the K League.
His current contract at FC Seoul will run out at the end of 2026. Hence, Spurs will have to make a good offer if they are serious about recruiting the South Korean sensation.
Tottenham Hotspur Are Eyeing A Move For Kang: Is He A Prospect For The Future?
Kang excels at finding a yard of space for himself to get a few strikes in on-target. He has got the vision to engineer some promising chances for his teammates from the right flank. The two-time South Korean international is a decent dribbler with the ball as well and can be a hard man to stop in and around the opponent’s penalty box.
However, he has to find a way to be more consistent with his offensive contributions up top. Furthermore, there are some concerns over whether he can cope with the physical side and high intensity of English football.
We can expect Kang to be a great acquisition for Spurs in the long run. At 20, the talented starlet has got the potential to become a future star at the highest level.
Thus, Tottenham boss Angelos Postecoglou would be wise to move in for the FC Seoul wide player when the transfer window commences later this month. There is no denying that Kang is a prospect to watch out for in the future as long as he continues to develop his all-around game with each season.
