In a recent tweet, journalist Rudy Galetti mentioned that Newcastle United are planning to move in for Leicester City midfielder Youri Tielemans. It has been claimed that the Magpies are looking to offer the Belgian midfield ace a contract when his deal with the Foxes expires at the end of this month.
🚨🔥 #Newcastle are looking for a new MF and they're approaching #Tielemans, one of the top names in their list.
📌 As already revealed in April, some 🇪🇺 clubs (🇮🇹 included) are interested in him.

Tielemans’ Struggles At Leicester City This Season
Tielemans has endured a frustrating campaign at the King Power Stadium as he failed to help Leicester avoid being relegated from the Premier League. The 26-year-old has registered four goals and a couple of assists in 37 matches for the East Midlands club this season across all competitions.
The Belgian playmaker has caught the eye at times with his contributions at the centre of the park based on his average of 2.1 tackles, 0.9 interceptions, 0.8 clearances, 1.0 shots, 1.0 key passes and 0.8 dribbles per game in Premier League football. He has even been accurate when distributing the ball from midfield after completing 82.1% of his attempted passes in the top tier of English football (stats via whoscored).
Tielemans is under contract at Leicester until the end of this month. Hence, the Magpies have got a decent chance to sign on a free transfer in the upcoming transfer window.
Is Tielemans A Decent Signing For Newcastle United?
Tielemans is a tough-tackling midfielder who can make some timely interceptions for his side in the middle of the park. He usually puts his foot through the ball when needed but has also got the vision to create some decent chances in the final third.
The Belgian sensation is full of energy and running, and can even strike the ball with venom and precision from long range.
Someone with Tielemans’ skillset will be an excellent signing for the Magpies this summer. He will be available as a free agent and would no doubt enhance the quality of Newcastle boss Eddie Howe‘s midfield. Therefore, the Tyneside giants should focus on getting him on board soon as he could help them compete across all competitions over the next few years.
