In a recent report, talkSPORT revealed that West Ham United are set to rival Aston Villa for Leeds United star Jack Harrison. It has been claimed that the Hammers are among the clubs hoping to secure the services of the English wide player this summer.
Harrison’s Impressive Form In English Football This Season
Harrison has endured a tough campaign at Elland Road after failing to help his side survive the drop from the Premier League recently. Still, the 26-year-old deserves a lot of credit for find the back of the net on six occasions and earning ten assists in 40 matches this season across various competitions.
Harrison has been a positive influence for Leeds in the final third as he is averaging 1.1 shots, 1.5 key passes and 1.3 dribbles per game in Premier League football. However, he has been a bit careful with his ball distribution in the opponent’s half after making only 71% of his attempted passes in top-flight football (stats via whoscored).
His current deal with the Whites will run out in the summer of 2028. Thus, West Ham will have to make a good offer if they are to stand a chance of signing Harrison in this off-season.
Will Harrison Be A Decent Signing For West Ham United Boss David Moyes?
Harrison is a decent dribbler with the ball and can be a hard man to stop when he is running in full swing in the final third. He can create some meaningful openings for his teammates up top and can shoot the ball with power from long range.
The English sensation is a good finisher in front of the opponent’s goal. However, as mentioned earlier, he needs to improve his passing accuracy out on the flanks.
We can expect Harrison to inject more pace and goals into West Ham boss David Moyes’ frontline. He has what it takes to rival Said Benrahma, Pablo Fornals and Jarrod Bowen for a regular starting spot at the London Stadium next season. Hence, Harrison will be a great signing for the Hammers this summer.
