All is not yet over for Frank Lampard. The ex-Chelsea midfielder could make a shocking return to the Premier League with Crystal Palace very keen to rope in the player.
The 38-year-old left Chelsea in 2014 ending his 13-year association with the club. The three-time Premier League winner is currently a free agent after his contract with the MLS side New York City ended.
The midfielder continued his rich vein of form in the USA as he netted on 12 occasions in 19 appearances for the club. Before joining the US club the ex-England international had a short stint with their parent club Manchester City and even was on target against his former club Chelsea.
Newly appointed Crystal Palace manager Sam Allardyce has the knack of signing older players. During his days with Bolton Wanderers, ‘Big Sam’ signed Jay-Jay Okocha and Fernando Hierro who worked wonders for him.
Lampard would be a huge boost for the Premier League side who are languishing at the 17th place this season.
Championship club Brighton and Chelsea could be an alternative destination for the midfielder.
