In a recent interview with Goodison News, Sky pundit Kevin Campbell urged Everton to move in for Rangers forward Alfredo Morelos. Campbell said,
“I think Morelos is a good player, he’s got the type of game that the Goodison crowd would like. There’s an edge to him.”
“The key is can you create opportunities for him? If you can then he looks like he could take chances.
“That one might be a little bit more of a longer shot, but someone like him it’s going to be difficult to just go to anywhere.
“That might be a smart shout to be honest, it might just be a smart shout because he likes to prove himself and he’s got that edge.”
Morelos’ Good Form In Scottish Football This Season
Morelos is having a decent campaign at the Ibrox Stadium as he has put in several influential displays for the Scottish side in the final third. The 26-year-old has scored 12 goals and picked up seven assists in 44 matches for Rangers this season across all competitions.
The Colombian talent has made most of his appearances off the bench but deserves credit for averaging 2.5 shots and 0.9 key passes per game in the Scottish Premiership. He has even been tidy with his ball distribution after completing 81.4% of his attempted passes in the Scottish top tier (stats via whoscored).
What Will Morelos Bring To Everton?
Morelos excels at finding space for himself to get a few strikes in at goal and can also create some decent chances for his teammates in the final third. He can contribute by scoring and creating his fair share of goals up top but is in dire need of earning regular first-team starts if he wants to make the most out of his playing career.
The Colombian sensation is primarily a centre-forward but can also function as a wide player on either flank if asked to do so.
We can expect Morelos to bring some much-needed firepower to Everton‘s frontline at Goodison Park. He is good enough to help the Merseyside club remain competitive in Premier League football this season if they can avoid relegation this season.
At 26, Morelos’ best years are ahead of him which makes him an ideal choice for the Toffees to consider this summer.
