In a recent report, Fichajes stated that Manchester City are open to paying for Napoli defender Kim Min-jae. It has been mentioned that the Mancunian club will have to rival Manchester United in the race to land the South Korean centre-back this summer.
Min-Jae’s Impressive Form At The Diego Armando Maradona Stadium This Season
Min-jae is having a solid campaign at the Naples club as he has put in a series of dominant performances for them on the defensive end of the pitch. The 26-year-old has registered two goals and two assists in 43 appearances for his current employers this season on all fronts.
The South Korean sensation has been a rock at the back for Napoli based on his average of 1.6 tackles, 1.2 key passes and 3.6 clearances per 90 minutes in Serie A. He has even been accurate when distributing the ball from the back, as evidenced by his pass completion rate of 90.8% in league football (stats via whoscored).
Min-jae is under contract at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium until the summer of 2025. Hence, it is no surprise that Man City will have to pay a big fee for him if they want to secure his services in this off-season.
Is Min-Jae A Good Option For Manchester City Boss Pep Guardiola?
Min-jae is a solid tackler of the ball and can scan the danger quickly to make a few timely interceptions for his side. He doesn’t mind clearing his lines when needed and can use his strong 1.90m frame to win some 50-50 aerial duels for his team.
At the moment, Min-jae is playing some of the best football of his playing career at Napoli and would no doubt be an excellent signing for Man City this summer.
We can expect the South Korean talent to add more bite and steel to Pep Guardiola‘s defence and help the Mancunian club challenge for even more silverware in the coming seasons.
At 26, Min-jae will get better with each season which makes him a worthy option for Man City to pursue during the summer transfer window.
