In a recent report, Mundo Deportivo revealed that Real Madrid have identified Tottenham Hotspur loanee Pedro Porro as a target. It is understood that Los Blancos are eyeing a move to get the Spanish full-back on board in the summer.
Porro’s Impressive Loan Spell In England
Porro is having a solid loan spell at the North London club as he has managed to produce some decent performances on the right side of their midfield. The Spanish talent has made 14 appearances for Spurs this season, scoring two goals and picking up two assists across various competitions.
The 23-year-old has caught the eye at both ends of the field based on his average of 1.8 tackles, 1.0 interceptions, 1.4 clearances, 1.8 shots, 1.7 key passes and 1.0 dribbles per 90 minutes in Premier League football. He has even been tidy when distributing the ball from the right flank, as evidenced by his pass success rate of 75.6% in the English first division (stats via whoscored).
His current loan spell at Tottenham is set to end this summer. However, Porro is under contract at his parent club Sporting CP until the summer of 2025. Thus, it won’t be easy for Los Blancos to land him on the cheap in this off-season.
Should Real Madrid Boss Carlo Ancelotti Move In For Porro?
Porro is a solid tackler of the ball and can time his challenges well to secure the ball back for his side on the defensive end of the pitch. He doesn’t mind putting his foot through the ball when needed and can even create some inviting chances for his teammates in the final third. The Spaniard can shoot the ball with great power and technique from long range and is a decent dribbler with the ball as well.
Thus, Porro would be a good addition to Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti’s squad in the summer. He is good enough to fight for a regular starting spot at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium next season. Furthermore, the Spanish full-back could serve as an ideal successor to Dani Carvajal at the Madrid club in the long run.
At 23, the future is quite bright for Porro. Hence, Ancelotti should think about moving in for him during this summer transfer window.
