In a recent report, AS mentioned that Real Madrid have been offered a chance to sign Juventus forward Dusan Vlahovic. It has been claimed that Los Blancos have been handed an opportunity to secure the services of the Serbian striker this summer.
Vlahovic’s Decent Numbers In Italian Football
Vlahovic is having an inconsistent campaign at the Allianz Stadium but has managed to put in a handful of productive displays for Juve in the final third. The 23-year-old has banged in 12 goals and grabbed four assists in 37 appearances for the Turin club this season across all fronts.
The Serbian sensation has led the line well at times for Juventus based on his average of 2.5 shots, 0.8 key passes and 0.5 dribbles per 90 minutes in Serie A. However, he lacks quality when distributing the ball in the final third, as evidenced by his pass completion rate of 72.2% in the Italian top tier (stats via whoscored).
His current contract at the Italian club is set to run out in the summer of 2026. Thus, it will be difficult for Real Madrid to land Vlahovic on the cheap during this summer transfer window.
Will Vlahovic Be A Good Option For Real Madrid Head Coach Carlo Ancelotti?
Vlahovic excels at finding space for himself to get a few strikes in at goal. He can shoot the ball with power and can be a decent finisher in the final third when he is playing regularly and with confidence on the pitch. The Serbian centre-forward can also create the odd chance for a teammate inside the opponent’s penalty box. However, he is far from a prolific forward and won’t be a good replacement for Karim Benzema at Real Madrid.
However, if Carlo Ancelotti is looking for a decent back-up for Benzema, Vlahovic would fit the bill perfectly as he has got enough experience to serve as a valuable member of Los Blancos‘ squad.
At 23, Vlahovic will only get better in the coming years and would be a great, long-term option for the Madrid giants to consider in this off-season. However, only time will tell whether he can make a smooth transition to life in La Liga if Ancelotti can successfully devise a way to get him on board.
