In a recent report, Mundo Deportivo mentioned that Arsenal are set to rival Chelsea for Athletico Paranense forward Vitor Roque. It has been claimed that the Gunners are pushing hard to secure the services of the Brazilian talent.
Roque’s Impressive Run Of Form In Brazilian Football
Roque has already established himself as a first-team starter at the Brazilian club and has managed to put in some impressive displays for them in the final third. The 18-year-old has banged in 12 goals and earned five assists in 46 matches for the Brazilian club so far on all fronts.
The gifted teenager has caught the eye at times with his performances for Athletico Paranense in recent times. Roque is under contract at the Brazilian club until the summer of 2027. Therefore, it won’t be easy for Arsenal to lure him away to North London when the transfer window commences later this year.
At 18, Roque’s best years are ahead of him which makes him a decent option for the Gunners to pursue this summer.
Arsenal Eyeing A Move For Roque: Is He Worth The Fight?
Roque can create space for himself to get a few shots in at goal and can also engineer some promising chances for his teammates in the final third. The gifted starlet is a decent dribbler with the ball as well but is still quite inexperienced at the highest level.
Roque has what it takes to become a future star in Premier League football if Arsenal can devise a way to bring him on board in this off-season.
The Brazilian whizkid is already good enough to play a sporadic role in Mikel Arteta’s match-day squad at the North London club. He could even help the Gunners challenge for some top honours over the next decade.
However, Roque is still quite raw and would need time to cope with the physicality and high intensity of English football. Still, he is a star in the making and Arteta could be the ideal man to oversee his development at the Emirates Stadium. Hence, it makes sense for Arsenal to try everything they can to win the race for his services this summer.
