Everton came back to winning ways with a thumping 3-0 demolition of Southampton leaving behind their frustrating result against Hull City. The win, though, doesn’t close their gap with Manchester United, but it surely keeps them above West Bromwich Albion at the 7th position in the league table.
The Best & The Worst Everton Players Rated From Their Thumping Win Over Southampton
Robles (7.5/10)– While the game looked evenly balanced for most the time with both the team getting equal chances, the goalies had to play an important role. And Robles was up for it.
He made a massively important block to deny Redmond with the score goalless and was solid and reassuring throughout.
Coleman (8/10)– Very much like Alexis Sanchez, Coleman’s off the ball work rate helps him to get more of the ball than most Everton players.
His crosses lack perfection, though. However, he got one right today that resulted in Valencia’s goal.
Williams (8.5/10)– Undoubtedly the best defender today. He was like a rock standing at the back and cleared off many Southampton attacks.
His no nonsense defending has been a source of inspiration for his teammates.
Funes Mori (7/10)– Looked nervy at times and with Southampton pressing hard, he looked as he would crumble. Fortunately, he came out without a scratch.
Baines (8/10)– Was almost at his best. Solid at the defence and sharp like a knife when running up the flank. The penalty was brilliantly placed as well.
