Chelsea entertained Liverpool at Stamford Bridge earlier tonight as they hoped to secure a good result on their travels in the Premier League. The Blues made a decent start to the game but could only manage to go into the half-time interval with a goalless scoreline.
The two teams canceled each other out in the second half as Chelsea were held to a lackluster 0-0 draw in front of their home fans.
Let’s take a look at how each Chelsea player fared during the clash against the Reds.
GK: Kepa Arrizabalaga – 7/10
The Spanish keeper made a few solid saves at the back and secured an important clean sheet at home.
CB: Wesley Fofana – 8/10
He earned the ball back multiple times during the game and even cleared the danger when required.
CB: Kalidou Koulibaly – 7.5/10
Koulibaly didn’t do much wrong at the back and deserves credit for restricting the opposition from scoring a goal tonight.
CB: Marc Cucurella – 7/10
Cucurella did his fair share of defending inside his half but lacked quality going forward.
RM: Reece James – 7.5/10
James made a few driving runs with the ball but was a bit underwhelming defensively.
CM: N’Golo Kante – 7.5/10
The France international began the game well and was arguably Chelsea’s best player on the pitch in the first half.
CM: Enzo Fernandez – 6.5/10
He managed to impress at times at both ends of the pitch but has got nothing to show for his efforts.
CM: Mateo Kovacic – 6.5/10
Kovacic was lively in the opponent’s half but wasted a glorious chance to find the back of the net.
LM: Ben Chilwell – 7/10
Chilwell created three good chances for his teammates from the left flank.
ST: Kai Havertz – 6/10
He was a handful for the Liverpool defenders but didn’t have his shooting boots on tonight.
ST: Joao Felix – 7/10
His pace caused a few problems for the opposition but struggled to finish off his chances.
Substitutes:
CM: Conor Gallagher – 6/10
He added some energy to Chelsea’s midfield.
LW: Mykhailo Mudryk – 6/10
Mudryk produced a nice cameo off the bench.
ST: Raheem Sterling – N/A
He hardly had any time to make an impact.
