The busy festive period carries on as the 20 teams gear up to play their second match in a matter of 2 days as the gaps in the tables open up. Chelsea look to be in no mood to stop and are carrying on nonchalantly, swatting aside any team which crosses its path but they will be faced with a stern test on Wednesday when they make their way to the White Hart Lane to face a high-flying Spurs team who will be desperate to make a statement of their own. Pochettino will be knowing the enormity of the task and will be planning accordingly. The difficult match makes us take a break from the host of players from the two teams.
Manchester United are away to West Ham United and one never knows what sort of team will turn up. We will be staying away United too as a result.
Without ado let us take a look at the 4 players from each position we are tipping to get us the points-
GOALKEEPER
CLAUDIO BRAVO (5.3)
Yeah, a shocking choice. And a controversial one. But with Burnley rolling up to the Etihad, albeit with an in-form Andre Grey, it is expected to be a comfortable 90 minutes for the Sky Blues. They have been anything but solid defensively but the lack of clear choices and the fact that City will be dominating the lion’s share of possession thus reducing the number of chances the Clarets will be having, makes us choose the Chilean.
DEFENDER
GARETH McAuley 4.9)
Yes, the Baggies haven’t had a clean sheet for quite a while now but a home match against Hull City is their best bet. The centre-back has already notched up 3 goals this season and is looking good to add another one to the tally. Hull have been horrendous on the road and a goal is looking difficult to come from anywhere.
MIDFIELDER
MATT PHILLIPS (5.6)
Another West Bromwich Albion player! That also in the attacking category. Pulis is surely doing some magic at the Hawthorns. The West Brom winger continued his outstanding campaign with a third double-digit return – an unlikely profit away at Southampton. Phillips has now fetched four goals and five assists in nine successive starts with 11 bonus points accrued over that spell.
FORWARD
SERGIO AGUERO (12.8)
The Manchester City striker had a quiet display after his return. But the best fantasy player of recent seasons will be watched on by many nervously as Burnley roll up to the Etihad. Capable of turning around leagues in a single match, he is our best bet for the armband.
