According to a report from Sport Witness, West Ham United forward Nikola Vlasic, who is on loan at Torino, could join them permanently at the end of this season. It is understood that the Serie A side are working on a move to activate the buy-out clause in his contract in which they’d have to pay €15 million to acquire his signature.
Vlasic’s Decent Run Of Form In Italian Football This Season
Vlasic has put in a handful of impressive displays being the focal point of Torino’s attack during this campaign. The 25-year-old has banged in four goals and grabbed three assists in 26 matches for the Italian club this season across multiple competitions.
The Split-born sensation has been consistent and reliable in the attacking third after averaging 1.9 shots, 1.9 key passes and 0.9 dribbles per game in Serie A. He has also been accurate with his ball distribution, as evidenced by his pass success rate of 82.2% in the Italian first division (stats via whoscored).
His current deal at the London Stadium is set to run out in the summer of 2026, so the Hammers could try to recoup their investment in him at the end of this season if they decide to sanction his exit.
Should David Moyes Sanction His Exit From West Ham United?
Vlasic excels at creating space for himself to get a few strikes in at goal and has the vision to create some decent chances for his teammates on the attacking end of the field. He also has the ability to get past defenders with ease, as he remains adept at dribbling the ball out of tight situations.
The Croatian attacker is primarily an attacking midfielder but remains versatile enough to lead the charge down the middle and also operate in the right wing. He is having a successful loan spell with Torino at the moment, becoming a crucial part of their attacking department, so a permanent move could be in favour of the Croatia international, who is still developing his game.
All in all, David Moyes has plenty of attacking options at his disposal even though they haven’t fared well at the London Stadium this season. Vlasic would not be given enough game time considering Lucas Paqueta is already a regular in the same position. Hence, West Ham should clearly sanction his exit in the summer in exchange for a handsome fee from Torino which they could utilise elsewhere.
