We are living in a bizarre world it seems. All of a sudden Erik Ten Hag is taking weird digs at Arsenal.
On Wednesday night, the Manchester United manager said this in front of the media, “Only in one game could I say, ok I can pick my team, also from a tactical approach, that was perfect. That was against Man City at home.
“And that was the only time in this season. In other times, in every game, it was one player suspended, one player is injured or [has] illness, so we have to deal with it well but of course you hope, like I see with Arsenal, that they almost have all the time their squad available.”
Arsenal have not been lucky with injuries no matter what Erik Ten Hag says
The comments are ludicrous. Of course Mikel Arteta and Arsenal have not been lucky with injuries and suspensions when it comes to their squad.
Gabriel Jesus, Arsenal’s no 1 striker this season, was injured at the World Cup and missed all games until the second week of March. The Brazilian only recently came on a second half substitute Vs Fulham.
Also, last season’s top scorer for Arsenal, Emile Smith Rowe missed the best part of this season after undergoing surgery for his groin problems.
Let’s not forget that Thomas Partey missed some important games including against United at Old Trafford at the start of this season.
Kieran Tierney, one of the more important players from last season, was unavailable for large parts of this season but you don’t hear any Arsenal fans talking about this.
Erik Ten Hag Should Stop Deflecting
Look, the 7-0 loss to Liverpool must have been a pretty big psychological blow. That probably means he is trying to look for excuses as Man United look to nail down a Top 4 position in the league.
However, making claims that don’t even align with reality is not the way to do it. It’s not even that smart to be honest.
