According to a report from Liverpool Echo, the Merseyside club are interested in signing Dusan Vlahovic in order to bolster their attack even further this summer. It is understood that the forward is unhappy at the Serie A side and is looking for a move away from Turin at the end of the season which gives Liverpool a significant boost in their pursuit of his signature.
Vlahovic’s Impressive Numbers For Juventus So Far This Season
Vlahovic is having a brilliant campaign at Truin as he has put in some impressive displays in the attacking third of the field even though he struggled with injuries. However, the Italian giants have only continued to disappoint in the league table despite the Serbian striker performing at his best and banging in ten goals and creating four assists over twenty-six appearances across all fronts.
The Belgrade-born sensation has been reliable in front of the goal and has performed consistently in the final third after averaging 3.1 shots, 1.0 key passes and 0.5 dribbles per game in Serie A. However, he will have to improve on his ball distribution as he has only completed 72.7% of his attempted passes in league football (stats via whoscored).
Should Klopp Bring Him To Liverpool?
Vlahovic remains an attacking threat in the final third, as he excels at finishing inside the opponent’s penalty box. He can position himself in the right places, acting as a target man in the offence to convert the chances created for him by his teammates. Furthermore, he remains an indirect set-piece threat standing at 1.9 meters tall, which allows him to dominate his opponents in the air.
At 23, he has proven to have great potential and has enough room to polish his game. However, the Serbia international will have to improve his link-up play if he wishes to become one of the best strikers in Europe.
He could certainly bring more competition in the number nine position and also add more firepower to the Reds’ attacking department. However, with Cody Gapko set to replace Roberto Firmino upon his departure, and Luis Diaz still having roles to play alongside Diogo Jota, bringing in another forward would be unnecessary. The Anfield club need direct replacements in the midfield department, so Jurgen Klopp should prioritise bringing in reinforcements for that area before going forward with bolstering their attacking department.
