Manchester United will entertain Crystal Palace at Old Trafford on Saturday afternoon as they try to secure all three points at home in the Premier League. The Red Devils secured an impressive 2-0 win over Nottingham Forest in midweek which will keep them in high spirits ahead of this game.
Erik ten Hag will set his side up in a 4-2-3-1 formation and could make a few changes to his first XI for this game. Both Marcus Rashford and David de Gea will play from the start while Tom Heaton and Alejandro Garnacho drop to the bench.
4-2-3-1 Manchester United Predicted Lineup To Face Crystal Palace
Defence
David de Gea will function in goal for the Mancunian outfit after being rested in midweek. Raphael Varane will continue to operate alongside Lisandro Martinez at the centre of the Man United backline as they look to keep the Eagles at bay this weekend.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka will play as the right-back while Luke Shaw hopes to produce an energetic performance as the left-back. Both of them will get the license to get forward and join in on the attack out on the wide areas.
Victor Lindelof and Harry Maguire will have to settle for a spot on the bench as they provide cover for the defensive positions.
Midfield
Fred and Casemiro will function as the holding midfielders as they look to dominate the game at the centre of the park and orchestrate some clear-cut chances in the final third.
The gifted trio of Marcus Rashford, Bruno Fernandes and Antony will operate just ahead of them as part of ten Hag’s attack. Rashford will have to carry most of the goal-scoring workload for Man United in the final third while Fernandes acts as ten Hag’s primary playmaker.
Scott McTominay is unlikely to recover in time for this game. However, Jadon Sancho and Facundo Pellistri will be available for selection on the bench as they await their chance to shine as the impact substitutes in the second 45 minutes if needed.
Attack
Wout Weghorst will spearhead Man United’s attack on the attacking end of the field. He will be expected to work hard and produce a good performance for the Red Devils up top.
Anthony Martial will have to be content with a place on the bench and might come on to influence the game in the final quarter of the contest if Man United are in need of a goal by then.
