Porro’s Impressive Numbers At Estádio José Alvalade This Season
Porro is having a promising season in Liga Portugal as he has established himself as a consistent performer on the right side of Sporting’s defence. The 23-year-old has registered three goals and 11 assists in 25 matches for the Portuguese club during this campaign across various competitions.
The Spanish sensation has been a reliable performer for Sporting at both ends of the field based on his average of 1.4 tackles, 0.6 interceptions, 0.9 clearances, 2.6 shots, 2.4 key passes and 1.1 dribbles per 90 minutes in Liga Portugal. However, he needs to improve his ball distribution after completing only 74.9% of his attempted passes in the Portuguese first division (stats via whoscored).
Porro’s current deal at the Estádio José Alvalade is set to run out in the summer of 2025. Thus, Spurs could struggle to land him on a cut-price fee before the end of this January transfer window.
Will Porro Be A Decent Signing For Tottenham Hotspur Boss Antonio Conte?
Porro is a good tackler of the ball and can make some timely interceptions for his team inside his half. He can shoot the ball well from long range and can create some inviting chances for his teammates to find the back of the net. Porro mainly plays as a right-back but can also fill in as a right-sided wide player if his manager asks him to do so.
The Don Benito-born talent can even make a few good runs with the ball on the right flank. Thus, it makes sense for Spurs to orchestrate another move to secure their services of Porro during this winter transfer window.
At 23, the Spanish full-back has got a promising future ahead of him and could prove to be a decent signing for Tottenham boss Antonio Conte to pull off this month. We can expect him to bring more energy and dynamism to Conte’s first XI and help Spurs challenge for some major trophies over the next few years.
Porro will no doubt improve the quality of the North London club‘s match-day squad and offer some serious competition for Emerson Royal and Matt Doherty for a regular starting spot at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
