Manchester United will be bidding to make it to the fourth round of the FA Cup when they welcome Everton to Old Trafford on Friday night. The hosts will be coming into the match on the back of a comfortable 3-0 victory over Bournemouth which will keep them in high spirits, whereas the visitors suffered a disappointing 4-1 loss against Brighton which lowers their confidence even further.
Erik Ten Hag will probably opt for the 4-2-3-1 formation with a host of changes from the last game as Lisandro Martinez, Raphael Varane, Alejandro Garnacho and Diogo Dalot are all set to make their way back into the starting XI.
4-2-3-1 Manchester United Predicted XI Vs Everton
Defence
David de Gea will continue in between the sticks for the upcoming clash. The Spanish shot-stopper would look to put up a strong performance and secure another clean sheet in this home encounter.
Lisandro Martinez is expected to form the center-half partnership with Raphael Varane at the heart of United’s backline. Diogo Dalot will replace Aaron Wan-Bissaka in the right-back position, whereas Luke Shaw will keep his place on the other flank as the left-back.
Midfield
Casemiro and Christian Eriksen will anchor the defensive midfield positions as the Red Devils will heavily rely on Eriksen’s creativity to create enough opportunities in the final third while the former plays more of a defensive role to shield the back four.
Marcus Rashford, Burno Fernandes and Alejandro Garnacho will operate just ahead of them being part of Ten Hag’s attack. All three of them will have to be on top of their game to create chances in front of the goal.
Fred will have to settle for a place on the bench, but he could be brought on in the second half of the contest if needed.
Attack
Anthony Martial will continue to lead the line for Manchester United this weekend. The France international’s adept movement in front of the goal could cause a lot of trouble for the Toffees’ defence as he would be eager to find the back of the net.
United are short of attacking options on the bench as Antony remains doubtful due to a problem that forced him to miss the team’s last game, so Ten Hag will have to make do with what he has at his disposal.
