Liverpool could make a move for Arsenal winger Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain when the winter transfer window opens. The 23-year-old joined Arsenal from Southampton in 2011 but has been struggling to nail a first team place. This season has been his best till now as the England international has bagged six goals in 23 appearances.
Chamberlain had been linked with a host of clubs earlier as Manchester City and Southampton are very eager to take him. The player has 18 months left on his current contract and has said recently he might have to leave Arsenal for more game time.
However, there could be a twist as the relationship between Arsenal and Liverpool is not very good since the Luis Suarez transfer saga. Arsenal made a bid for £40m+1p for Suarez that strained the relationship between the two clubs.
Sadio Mane’s departure in January compelled Klopp to search for suitable replacements and Chamberlain fits the bill perfectly.
