In a recent report, The Sun mentioned that Real Madrid are confident about signing Borussia Dortmund star Jude Bellingham. It has been claimed that Los Blancos are optimistic about their chances of beating Liverpool, Manchester United and Chelsea in the race to land the England international.
Bellingham’s Impressive Numbers In German Football This Season
Bellingham is having another positive campaign with Dortmund as he has continued to produce a run of impressive displays for them at the centre of the park. The English prospect has banged in ten goals and secured five assists in 32 appearances for both his club and nation this season in multiple competitions.
The 19-year-old has proven himself to be a capable presence at the heart of Dortmund’s midfield by averaging 3.2 tackles, 1.4 interceptions, 1.1 clearances, 2.1 shots, 1.0 key passes and 2.0 dribbles per game in Bundesliga. He has even been accurate when distributing the ball from midfield after making 82.5% of his attempted passes in the German top-flight (stats via whoscored).
His current contract at Signal Iduna Park is set to run out in the summer of 2025. Hence, Real Madrid will have to make a mammoth offer if they want to sign Bellingham next year.
Is Bellingham A Dream Signing For Real Madrid Head Coach Carlo Ancelotti?
Bellingham is a good tackler of the ball and can sense the danger well to make some timely interceptions for his side in the middle of the park. He usually clears the danger when the opposition are on the offensive and can even engineer some meaningful openings for others around him on the attacking end of the field. The English talent can also shoot the ball with power and precision from long range and can complete some decent dribbles in the opponent’s half.
Bellingham mainly operates as a central midfielder but can also play as a wide player on either flank if required. We can expect him to inject more goals and creativity into Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti‘s midfield department and might even help Los Blancos secure a lot of major trophies over the next decade.
At 19, Bellingham has already established himself as a world-class midfielder. He has what it takes to secure a regular starting spot at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium next season. With all things considered, the Madrid outfit should focus on trying everything they can to secure the services of the England international this January or at the end of this campaign.
