It was also stated that the Old Lady will accept a bid in the range of £13 million as the transfer fee required to sanction his exit but the Reds will have to compete with Newcastle United who have recently shown interest in the French midfielder as well.
Rabiot’s Campaign With Juventus This Season
Rabiot has had a brilliant start to this campaign with the Turin giants as he put in a handful of promising performances at the centre of their midfield. The 27-year-old has appeared in 16 matches so far, registering five goals and two assists across all fronts. The French talent has also been a reliable performer for his nation in the 2022 FIFA World Cup as he has found the back of the net on one occasion and produced an assist helping France qualify for the quarter-finals.
The Saint-Maurice-born talent has been reliable at the centre of the park based on his average of 1.9 tackles, 1.1 interceptions, 0.6 clearances, 1.2 shots, 0.9 key passes and 0.9 dribbles per game in Serie A football. He was even accurate with his ball distribution after completing 85.5% of his attempted passes in league football (stats via whoscored).
Rabiot’s contract with Juve expires at the end of this season. Hence, it is no surprise that they are trying to sell him for a decent fee before the end of this January transfer window.
Is Rabiot A Good Fit For Liverpool Boss Jurgen Klopp?
Rabiot is a solid tackler of the ball and can earn the ball back for his team at the centre of the park when he is playing well on the pitch. He usually clears his lines when danger is looming in his defensive half. Furthermore, the French talent has got the vision to play a few decisive passes in the final third and also remains capable of making a few clever runs with the ball down the middle.
The 27-year-old is primarily a box-to-box midfielder but can fill in as a wide player on either flank if required which makes him a brilliant addition to a squad. Rabiot is playing at his peak at the moment and is well-equipped to make an instant impact at Anfield as long as he can make a smooth transition into Premier League football.
