Argentina will take on Netherlands at the Lusail Iconic Stadium on Friday as they go all out to grab a win needed to qualify for the 2022 FIFA World Cup semi-finals. They will be looking to produce a similar result on their road to glory bidding against the Dutch defence.
Lionel Scaloni could opt for a 4-3-3 formation and is expected to name Lionel Messi, Julian Alvarez and Angel Di Maria as the front three to go against the opposition. Emiliano Martinez will function in goal hoping to keep a clean sheet.

Defence
Emiliano Martinez will continue to feature in goal for his side being the first-choice keeper for his nation. Cristian Romero could function alongside Nicolas Otamendi at the heart of Argentina’s backline as they try to stop the opposition.
Nahuel Molina will fill in as the right-back while Marcos Acuna hopes to give a good account of himself as the left-back. Both of them will get the freedom to get forward and join in on the attack at every chance they get but will need to keep their shape defensively.
Lisandro Martinez will have to be content with a spot on the bench as he offers cover for the defensive positions.
Midfield
Rodrigo De Paul, Enzo Fernandes and Alexis Mac Allister will anchor the midfield for Argentina as they try to dominate the ball at the centre of the park and engineer enough clear-cut chances to win this deciding match on Friday.
Guido Rodriguez and Leandro Paredes will have to be patient on the bench as they might come on in the second half to make an impact.
Attack
Angel Di Maria will return to the front three as he tries to catch the eye as the left-winger while Julian Alvarez hopes to put in a productive performance from the opposite flank.
Lionel Messi will lead the line down the middle as he fancies his chances of finding the back of the net and getting his name on the scoresheet. All eyes will be on the Argentinian captain who will have to produce his magic in the attacking third to lead his team into the semi-finals.
Lautaro Martinez will be available for selection on the bench and might come on to influence the game in the latter stages if needed.
