Bayer Leverkusen winger Julian Brandt has emerged as a surprise target for Manchester United. The youngster has been in impressive form and has caught the eye of various clubs including Arsenal, Borussia Dortmund and Liverpool.
The 20-year-old is very highly rated and already has four caps for Germany. He can be deployed on either wing and is also comfortable playing as a striker. He has appeared in 16 games this season and has already found the net two times alongside racking up six assists.
The youngster is under contract until 2019 and has a release clause of €20m which shouldn’t be a problem for the Red Devils.
Jose Mourinho has been using Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford on the left wing despite having Memphis Depay in the squad. The Dutch winger is deemed as surplus to requirements after some not so good performances this season and is expected to be sold in January with Everton as a possible destination.
United had reportedly sent their scouts to watch Brandt in Bayer Leverkusen’s 1-1 draw with Koln.
