The England national team is now getting ready to feature in the 2022 FIFA World Cup which will kick off in Qatar soon. Gareth Southgate has already selected his whole squad for the tournament but will be without some star names as well due to injuries.

Harry Kane
Harry Kane has been England’s primary centre-forward for a long time and has got a stellar goal-scoring record for them as well. The 29-year-old has banged in 51 goals in 75 international appearances for the Three Lions so far in his career.
Hence, we can once again expect Kane to be England’s main source for goals in this World Cup. He will have to carry most of the goal-scoring workload on his own. The English talent has found the back of the net on 13 occasions and picked up three assists in 22 matches for Tottenham Hotspur this season. Therefore, he will fancy his chances of having a good World Cup and shining for his nation later this month.
Phil Foden
Foden is probably the most in-form player for England heading into this World Cup. He has been a breath of fresh air for Manchester City this season after registering eight goals and three assists in 20 matches for Pep Guardiola’s side across all competitions. He is averaging 1.9 shots, 1.5 key passes and 0.7 dribbles per game for Man City in the Premier League (stats via whoscored).
We can expect the Man City youngster to be desperate to catch the eye when he makes his first World Cup appearance in Qatar soon. Southgate could instruct him to form a good understanding with Harry Kane during the tournament. As long as the English talent gets a chance to feature in Southgate’s first XI, he will probably be confident about giving a good account of himself in this World Cup.
Aaron Ramsdale
The Arsenal keeper has been in fine form as he has managed to help the North London club go into the World Cup break with a place at the top of the Premier League table. The 24-year-old has proved his worth by earning eight clean sheets so far in this campaign. He has made 16 appearances for the Gunners, conceding just 13 goals in the process across multiple competitions.
