In a recent tweet, journalist Jose Passini stated that West Ham United are in the race to recruit Botafogo winger Jeffinho. It is understood that the Hammers could face competition in the form of Newcastle United in pursuit of the Brazilian attacker.

Jeffinho’s Impressive Run Of Form In Brazilian Football
The 22-year-old has managed to establish himself as a valuable member of Botafogo’s senior team and has already put in a few decent performances for them in the Brazilian Serie A. Jeffinho has found the back of the net on two occasions and earned three assists in 23 matches for the Brazilian outfit in league football.
The Brazilian youngster has caught the eye with his contributions on the left side of Botafogo’s attack as he is averaging 2.4 shots, 1.0 key passes and 3.2 dribbles per 90 minutes in the Brasileirao. He has even distributed the ball relatively well after completing 75.3% of his attempted passes in the Brazilian top-flight (stats via whoscored).
Jeffinho is under contract with the Brazilian club until the end of 2025. Hence, it won’t be easy for the Hammers to lure him to England on the cheap next year.
Is Jeffinho A Good Option For West Ham United Boss David Moyes?
Jeffinho has got decent pace under his belt and can make some promising runs with the ball out on the wide areas. He excels at creating space for himself to get some strikes in at goal and can shoot the ball with venom and precision from long range. Jeffinho mainly operates as a left-sided wide player but can also fill in as a right-winger or as an attacking midfielder if needed.
The Brazilian whizkid is a technically gifted footballer who has even got the vision to create some inviting chances for his teammates on the attacking end of the field.
However, Jeffinho is still quite raw and would need time to adjust to life in English football if the Hammers manage to land him in the future. He will no doubt add more quality to David Moyes‘ frontline and increase competition for places within his match-day squad at the London Stadium.
All in all, Jeffinho will be a good option for the East London outfit to consider next year as long as they have the finances to compete with Newcastle United in pursuit of the player. The South American talent could even help Moyes’ side push for a top-six finish in the coming seasons.
