Jose Mourinho has hailed Henrikh Mkhitaryanafter the Armenian gave another match-winning performance against Sunderland. Mkhitaryan scored a blinder of a goal to secure three points for the Red Devils.
United defeated Sunderland 3-0 with goals from Daley Blind, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Henrikh Mkhitaryan. Mourinho introduced Mkhitaryan at the stroke of 62 minutes by replacing Jesse Lingard.
This is his second consecutive goal in the premier League after he also scored the winner against Tottenham Hotspur. The 27-year-old had to miss the last two matches due to the injury he suffered in that match.
The playmaker scored a superb backheel volley from a Zlatan cross which should have been given an offside.
Mourinho said, “All his career he’s scored beautiful goals.
In this moment his goals [are helping] but also his defensive work, also his creativity.
“I’m so happy that he’s come back after his injury and he’s come back with his happiness and he’s feeling that people at Old Trafford love him and that’s a very important feeling for him.”
