Rangers will entertain Ajax at the Ibrox Stadium this Tuesday night as they look to end their UEFA Champions League run with a win at home. The Glaswegian outfit managed to earn a comfortable 4-1 win over Aberdeen recently which will give them some momentum ahead of this European clash versus the Dutch giants.
Giovanni van Bronckhorst will opt for a 4-2-3-1 formation and could be inclined to go with a strong team for this game. We can expect to see Borna Barisic and Alfredo Morelos play from the start in this contest at Glasgow.
4-2-3-1 Rangers Predicted Lineup To Face Ajax
Defence
Allan McGregor will function in between the sticks for Rangers after conceding one goal versus Aberdeen in his last outing. James Tavernier might have to fill in as a centre-back alongside Leon King at the heart of van Bronckhorst’s defence as they look to stop Ajax from scoring in midweek.
Adam Devine could get a chance to impress at right-back while Borna Barisic hopes to catch the eye as the left-back. Both of them could get a chance to express themselves in the opposition half as long as they can maintain a solid shape at the back.
Rangers have currently got most of their first-choice defenders out with injuries. We can expect both Conor Goldson and Ben Davies to definitely miss this game.
Midfield
James Sands and Steven Davis could operate as the holding midfielders as they focus on making life difficult for the opposition at the centre of the park. Both of them would also need to pass the ball well so that they can offer some decent service to the front players.
The gifted trio of Ryan Kent, Malik Tillman and Fashion Sakala will play just ahead of them as part of the Everton attack. Both Kent and Sakala will have to stretch the opposition’s defence out on the wide areas if Rangers want to create enough chances to win this Champions League contest in midweek.
Attack
Alfredo Morelos might get a chance to lead the charge for the Glaswegian side on the attacking end of the field. He will have to carry most of the goal-scoring workload on his own up top.
Antonio Colak will probably get a rest on the bench but might come on to influence the game in the latter stages if the home team are in need of a goal by then.
