In a recent report from Mirror, it was mentioned that Arsenal are interested in acquiring Mykhaylo Mudryk of Shakhtar Donetsk. It was also stated the Ukrainian outfit are looking to demand a hefty sum if they were to sell him in the next transfer window. However, with Manchester City also showing keen interest in the playmaker, the Gunners would have to make a lucrative offer if they wish to get his signature.
Mudryk’s Run Of Form In The Ukrainian Premier League
Mudryk has had a brilliant start to his campaign as he has put in several influential displays in the attacking third of the field. He has managed to score six goals and created two assists over eleven appearances across all fronts out of which three goals come from the Ukrainian Premier League.
The Krasnohrad-born talent has been consistent and reliable in Shakhtar’s attacking department after averaging 1.6 shots, 1.0 key passes, 1,8 dribbles and 1.2 tackles calculated over five appearances in the UEFA Champions League. He has also been tidy with his ball distribution after completing 80.3% of his attempted passes in the European contest (stats via whoscored).
Will Arteta Bring Him To Arsenal?
Mudryk excels at creating space for himself to get a few strikes in on the target. He has been in great form this season and has been performing consistently in top-flight football. The Ukraine international primarily operates in the number ten position but can also play as a left-winger if required. Furthermore, he has excellent control over the ball and remains confident in keeping possession while distributing the ball to his teammates. He can also make a few decisive passes to set up his teammates in front of the goal.
Arsenal should definitely think about moving in for the Ukrainian playmaker if Mikel Arteta is confident that he can get the best out of him over the becoming seasons. However, Shakhtar have reportedly been saying that they’ll be demanding a huge sum even though the asking price has not been confirmed.
With the likes of Man City also joining the race for this 21-year-old it would be a huge blow for the Gunners if City splash out big money to intervene in their plans. Hence, Arteta would have to make a lucrative offer to convince Mudryk to come to North London which could involve regular game time at a certain expense. His arrival at Emirates Stadium would be a brilliant addition to the squad so Arsenal should certainly make a bid.
