Everton faced off against Tottenham Hotspur at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium earlier this evening as they looked to grab a good result on the road. The Toffees made a solid start to the game and managed to hold the home side to a scoreless draw at the half-time break.
However, Spurs got themselves ahead in the 59th minute via Harry Kane’s penalty before Pierre-Emile Højbjerg made the points secure for them late in the game. The contest ended with the Toffees suffering a poor 2-0 loss away from home.

The English keeper made some important saves to keep his team in the contest. However, he won’t be happy after shipping in two goals in the second half.
RB: Seamus Coleman – 6/10
Coleman cleared his lines when needed but offered very little in the opponent’s half.
CB: James Tarkowski – 7/10
He gave a good account of himself on the defensive end of the field and was accurate with his passing as well.
CB: Conor Coady – 6.5/10
Coady made a few important clearances at the back but failed to stop the Tottenham attackers in the second half.
CB: Vitaliy Mykolenko – 6/10
He earned possession back a couple of times as a makeshift centre-half.
LB: Dwight McNeil – 6.5/10
McNeil was defensively solid and even had a couple of bright moments in the Tottenham half.
CM: Alex Iwobi – 6/10
He struggled to get a foothold in the game and produced a disjointed display during the 90 minutes.
CM: Idrissa Gueye – 6/10
Gueye earned the ball back a couple of times and was accurate with his passing. Still, he offered very little in the opponent’s half.
CM: Amadou Onana – 6.5/10
Onana got stuck in with some solid tackles and was a threat going forward.
ST: Demarai Gray – 6/10
Gray was a quiet presence in the final third and never looked like he would score.
ST: Neal Maupay – 5.5/10
He was a spectator for most of the game and did well to last 65 minutes.

Garner made two crucial defensive contributions after coming off the bench.
