Everton entertained Manchester United at Goodison Park earlier tonight as they hoped to earn all three points at home. The Toffees made a dream start to the game as they scored the opening goal in the fifth minute when Alex Iwobi scored with a brilliant strike. However, Antony equalised for the Red Devils just ten minutes later before Cristiano Ronaldo made it 2-1 to Man United just before the half-time break.
Frank Lampard’s men gave it a real good go in the second half but failed to net the equaliser as the contest finished with Everton suffering a narrow 2-1 loss in front of their home fans.
Let’s take a look at how each Everton player performed during the clash against the Red Devils.
GK: Jordan Pickford – 6/10
The English keeper made a couple of solid saves during the game but was a bit untidy with his passing.
RB: Seamus Coleman – 6.5/10
He did his fair share of defending and made one good run with the ball.
CB: Conor Coady – 6/10
Coady earned the ball back twice and made one key chance going forward.
CB: James Tarkowski – 6.5/10
He made a few crucial clearances inside his half but could not stop Man United from scoring twice in the first half.
LB: Vitaliy Mykolenko – 6.5/10
Mykolenko had a few bright moments in the game but offered very little in the final third.
CM: Alex Iwobi – 7.5/10
Iwobi opened the goal-scoring with a brilliant strike in the fifth minute and managed to cause a few problems for the opposition defenders.
CM: Idrissa Gueye – 5/10
He earned the ball back twice but looked shaky when defending at the back.
CM: Amadou Onana – 6/10
Onana anchored the midfield well but should have been more clinical in front of the Man United goal.
RW: Anthony Gordon – 6.5/10
He made two encouraging runs with the ball but had a quiet game in the opponent’s half.
ST: Neal Maupay – 6/10
Maupay came back to defend when needed but his impact was minimal in the final third.

He caused a few headaches for the Man United defenders but failed to register a goal.

He made one key chance in the final third.
