Borrusia Dortmund will lock horns with Sevilla at the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan Stadium on Wednesday night as they look to secure maximum points away from home in the UEFA Champions League. The German outfit suffered a poor 3-2 loss away at Koln last Saturday which has dampened their mood ahead of this game.
Edin Terzić will opt for a 4-2-3-1 formation and is expected to name an unchanged first XI for this game. We can expect to see Jude Bellingham partner up with Salih Özcan at the centre of the park.
4-2-3-1 Borussia Dortmund Predicted Lineup To Face Sevilla
Defence
Alexander Meyer will feature in goal for Borussia Dortmund despite conceding three goals versus Koln recently. Niklas Sule will once again function alongside Nico Schlotterbeck at the centre of Dortmund’s defence as they focus on stopping Sevilla from finding the back of the net during the 90 minutes.
Thomas Meunier will resume his duties at right-back while Raphael Guerreiro tries to give a good account of himself on the other side as the left-back. Both of them will get the license to get forward and make some overlapping runs out on the wide areas.
Tom Rothe will provide cover for the left-back position on the bench.
Midfield
As mentioned earlier, Salih Ozcan and Jude Bellingham will play as the holding midfielders as they hope to win the 50-50 duels at the centre of the park.
Donyell Malen could get another chance to catch the eye on the left flank while Karim Adeyemi looks to put in a good performance on the right wing.
Julian Brandt will play in the number ten position as the attacking midfielder with his main focus being to create some decent chances in and around the Sevilla penalty box. He is in a good run of form at the moment and would be an influential presence for Dortmund in the final third.
Emre Can and Thorgan Hazard will have to settle for a spot on the bench as they await their opportunity to impress in the second 45 minutes if required.
Attack
Anthony Modeste will lead the charge for the German giants on the attacking third of the field. He failed to score versus Koln and would be eager to produce a much-improved performance in midweek.
Youssoufa Moukoko will be named on the bench but might come to influence the game in the final quarter of the match if Dortmund are in need of a goal by then.
