Celtic gave their fans a brilliant Christmas gift win with a comfortable 3-0 away win against Hamilton Academical. The Hoops were 21 games unbeaten in domestic competitions this season when they travelled to the SuperSeal Stadium and they found it not hard to stretch their unbeaten streak to 22 games. With this 3-0 win, Celtic also stretch their winning streak to 13 domestic games. They are winning without too much of a contest and look unbeatable at the moment.
Celtic have a congested fixture list on their hands but Rodgers still played a strong starting XI. Both teams looked lacklustre in the first half but it was Celtic who got the breakthrough from Leigh Griffiths’ feet in the first half. Both Sviatchenko and Armstrong had first-half chances but Hamilton managed to survive. Celtic were down to 10 men in the 47th minute when Callum McGregor picked up his second booking of the game for a foul on Scott McMann.
Hamilton hardly looked capable enough to make their man advantage count. On 53 minutes Stuart Armstrong doubled Celtic’s lead with a stunning strike into the top corner from 25-yards out. Moussa Dembele killed the game by making it 3-0 with six minutes remaining from Forrest’s pass.
