Gray Cahill wants Chelsea to break the club record when they face Bournemouth on the Boxing Day. Chelsea haven’t lost their last 11 matches and equalled their club record of 11 back to back victories. They are on the brink of creating history if they manage to get the better of Bournemouth in the next match.
Cahill has become a key figure in Antonio Conte’s strategy since the Italian started to play with a three-man defence. The Blues have conceded just only two goals in their last 11 games so far
Cahill became the fastest player in Premier League history to win every major trophy available after his signing for Chelsea. He won the FA Cup and UEFA Champions League in 2012, the UEFA Europa League in 2013 and the League Cup and Premier League in 2015, all in the span of just three years.
The 31-year-old English international said, “It’s not something we speak about on a daily basis.
“In fact, I haven’t heard any of the lads speak about it, but we know about it and I’m aware of it. Of course you want to be involved in teams that break records and you want to be involved in teams that do well.
“We’re aware of it and the Boxing Day game is a chance for us to do that, which should add extra incentive. We want the three points badly and we want the record.
“I’ll speak for myself, I want the record. Why would you not? There’s three points and a record to go for.
“If you’re asking me if I’m going to be motivated for that game, I think we’re all in the same boat.”
