Liverpool faced Everton at Goodison Park this evening as they hoped to clinch all three points in this away encounter. The Reds made a slow start to the game but were held to a disappointing scoreline of 0-0.
Jurgen Klopp’s men did well to create chances in the early stages of the game but remained unlucky hitting the woodwork twice nearing half-time. Liverpool pushed on in search of a goal but failed to do so as Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford denied them inside the penalty box. The contest ended with the Reds earning a single point to a scoreless draw.

GK: Alisson Becker – 8/10
The Brazilian keeper made a few crucial saves in the end and gave a strong performance coming out in corner situations and doing well to distribute the ball under pressure.
RB: Trent Alexander-Arnold – 6.5/10
The English full-back put in an influential display and delivered some decent crosses in the first half but was later substituted with James Milner in the 59th minute.
CB: Joe Gomez – 6/10
Gomez dealt with mostly everything that came his way but faltered a few times when he was on the ball giving away possession inside his half.
CB: Virgil Van Dijk – 6.5/10
Van Dijk was strong at the back and organised his backline well but picked up a yellow card as he went in for a poor tackle on Amadou Onana in the latter half.
LB: Kostas Tsimikas – 7.5/10
Tsimikas made some dangerous runs down the left flank and created some decent opportunities for Darwin Nunez from the wide areas, remaining compact on defence as well. He was later replaced with Andrew Robertson who came on to impress in the final third.
CM: Harvey Elliott – 7/10
The talented youngster was always willing to get on the ball and set up a few decent plays for his teammates being subbed out with Joel Matip in the 80th minute.
CM: Fabinho – 6/10
The Brazilian midfield ace had a quiet start to the game but did well to play his way out from the holding positions in the latter half. He was later booked for a poor tackle on Idrissa Gueye when the Toffees were on the front foot.
CM: Fabio Carvalho – 6/10
The central midfielder did well to distribute possession in the attacking third before picking up an injury in the first half and being substituted with Roberto Firmino at halftime.
RW: Mohamed Salah – 6/10
Salah was always willing to run in behind the opponent’s backline but lacked the productivity in front of Everton’s goal.
ST: Darwin Nunez – 7/10
The Uruguayan striker made some decent chances in the first half and controlled the ball well to strike a volley in the second half only to be denied a goal as the shot was deflected off the crossbar. He was then replaced with Diogo Jota in the 80th minute.
LW: Luis Diaz – 7/10
Diaz caused all kinds of problems for Patterson but there was no goal for him today even though he was relentless in the final third.
Substitutes:
ST: Roberto Firmino – 7/10
Firmino did well to create some decent chances inside the penalty box but failed to find the back of the net despite attacking rigorously in the second half.
RB: James Milner – 6/10
Milner could only distribute possession to transition the ball when the Reds were on the offensive coming into the match in the 59th minute.
LB: Andrew Robertson – 6/10
Robertson was relentless on the left flank making some dangerous runs in the final minutes of the game. He made some promising deliveries inside the penalty box from the wide areas which the frontmen failed to convert in front of the goal.
ST: Diogo Jota – 6/10
Jota could only take care of the ball and deliver some key passes to Salah coming in the match as a late substitute.
CB: Joel Matip – 6/10
Matip took care of the backline and did well in the intense final minutes of the game to make a few decent tackles.
