Leeds United will face off against Brighton and Hove Albion at the American Express Community Stadium this weekend as they look to earn maximum points on the road. The Whites managed to secure a 3-1 win over Barnsley earlier this week which will keep their confidence high ahead of this Premier League game.
Jesse Marsch is expected to stick with his favoured 4-2-3-1 formation and could name a strong first XI for this game. Rodrigo is enjoying a rich vein of form at the moment and could lead the line for the Yorkshire giants up top.
4-2-3-1 Leeds United Predicted Lineup To Face Brighton
Defence
Illan Meslier will function in between the sticks for Leeds after he conceded a goal against Barnsley in the EFL Cup earlier this week. Diego Llorente will once again resume his defensive partnership with Robin Koch at the centre of Marsch’s defence as they focus on maintaining a solid shape at the back and limit the chances that Brighton create throughout the 90 minutes.
Rasmus Kristensen will operate at right-back while Pascal Struijk hopes to catch the eye on the other flank as the left-back. Marsch will give both of them the license to get forward and express themselves in the opponent’s half.
Leo Hjelde will have to settle for a spot on the bench as he offers cover for the defensive positions.
Midfield
Tyler Adams will anchor the midfield alongside Marc Roca as they look to get a stranglehold in the game and make life tough for the home side at the centre of the park.
Jack Harrison will feature as the left-sided winger while Daniel James looks to put his pace to good use from the right.
Brenden Aaronson will get a chance to impress as a free-flowing, attacking midfielder following his impressive performance in the win over Chelsea last weekend. He will have to carry most of the creative workload for Leeds up top.
Adam Forshaw will be available for selection on the bench as he waits for his chance to make an impact in the second 45 minutes if required.
Attack
Rodrigo will spearhead Marsch’s attack in the final third. The Spanish talent has begun this campaign in red hot form, so it would be up to him to put in another influential display in the opponent’s half.
Joe Gelhardt and Sam Greenwood will have to be content with a place on the bench but might come on in the latter stages of the game if Leeds are in need of a goal by then.
