Liverpool have joined Paris Saint-Germain in the pursuit of Wolfsburg midfielder Julian Draxler. Draxler is very eager to leave the club but has seen his transfer request being rejected every time.
He moved from Schalke only last season and had scored nine goals in his maiden season with the Bundesliga club. But the Germany International has failed to recreate the same form this season as Wolfsburg are languishing at the 13th place right now.
Wolfsburg are reportedly demanding a fee of €45m but PSG are very reluctant to pay so much and have been holding off for €30m. Klopp had tried to sign him before he left Schalke but couldn’t get him at that time. With Sadio Mane set to depart for the AFCON and Philippe Coutinho is yet to be fit, Draxler could be a good option for the Reds.
The 23-year-old also expressed his interest in leaving, “I am in talks with a couple of clubs, but so far no decision has been made. We will all sit down and make a sensible decision that is suitable for us.”
