Roberto Firmino has admitted that he wants to stay at the club for a long time. Firmino was struggling to adapt to the Premier league, having arrived from Hoffenheim for £29m under Brendan Rodgers last season.
But since the introduction of Jurgen Klopp, the Brazilian is a completely changed player. His relation with Klopp has also helped him to evolve in the Premier League.
Klopp has been playing with a 4-3-3 format with Firmino and Divock Origi switching roles. The 25-year-old has so far scored five and assisted five this season and Klopp has to rely a lot on him in the coming month as Sadio Mane will be leaving to take part in the AFCON.
The Brazilian said, “I think I have had to change the way I play. I was adapted to European football after playing in Germany for three years but English football is very different to the Bundesliga.
“You really notice that the Premier League is much, much faster – the pace is very high and you do need to adjust, but this is a type of football that I enjoy.
“Being really honest, I love it here and plan to stay for many years in the future as the Premier League is really competitive and tests you all the time.”
