Tottenham Hotspur will welcome Southampton at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this weekend as they try to pick up a positive result in front of their home fans. The summer arrivals of Clement Lenglet and Ivan Perisic will give Spurs fans more hope of a successful season in the Premier League.
Antonio Conte would choose to opt for a 3-4-3 formation and is expected to name both Lenglet and Perisic in his starting XI for this game.
3-4-3 Tottenham Hotspur Predicted Lineup To Face Southampton
Defence
Hugo Lloris will feature in goal for the North London club as he looks to keep things tidy at the back this Saturday afternoon. Cristian Romero, Eric Dier and Clement Lenglet will make up Tottenham’s backline as they focus on stopping the Saints from scoring throughout the 90 minutes.
Davinson Sanchez will have to be content with a place on the bench as he provides cover for the centre-back positions.
Midfield
Pierre-Emile Højbjerg and Rodrigo Bentancur will anchor the Tottenham midfield as they try to establish their dominance over the opposition at the centre of the park. The hard-working duo will also be responsible for creating a few decent chances for their teammates to find the back of the net.
Ivan Perisic will operate as a left-sided wide player while Matt Doherty looks to give a good account of himself on the right flank.
Yves Bissouma is a major doubt for this game as he is still recovering from a thigh injury. However, Ryan Sessegnon will be available for selection on the bench as he waits for his chance to shine in the second half if needed.
Attack
Heung-min Son would be responsible to put in a productive display on the left wing while Dejan Kulusevski tries to engineer some meaningful chances from the right.
Harry Kane will spearhead Conte’s attack down the middle. The English centre-forward will carry most of the goal-scoring burden for Spurs in the final third.
Richarlison is suspended for this game but Lucas Moura will be fit for a place on the bench and might come on to influence the game in the latter stages if Tottenham are in need of a goal by then.
